Raspberry Suite #8

Dawn's most recent challenge stretched me a bit. I'm not a huge fan of cream with bright colors (I'd rather use a crisp white), but I really like how my card turned out. I hope you do, too.
I traced a big Maya Road flower onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock, then cut it out. It took me a while to get the center just right--lots of experiments later, and this is what won out. The ribbon's knot is the center of the flower, and I tucked in some cut pieces of ribbon for the "tails". You can't tell I cheated, right? :) I also don't have Vintage Cream ink, so I used Fresh Snow and pounced it with a little bit of yellow chalk pastel to soften the brightness.

Also, Melissa is giving away some great blog candy...Check it out!

Paper: PTI Raspberry Fizz, Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Remix, SU Kraft
Ink: PTI Fresh Snow
Stamps: SU Seeing Spots
Other: PTI Vintage Cream satin ribbon, dimensional tape, chalk pastels, Maya Road flower for a template

  6. I thought I felt someone pouncing this weekend. :) Bwaaahaaahaa!!! Couldn't resist. We all have those little card making tricks, I don't think of it as 'cheating' unless you entered it into a 4-H contest and beat out some cute little six year old or something . . . okay, I should walk away from the computer now, I think I'm punchy. :) Very nice card. And thanks for the link to the video on your blog on creating, very encouraging.

First up:  Stained Glass Stencil I used some pearly embossing paste with this stencil, and as you can see, the results are nice and crisp.  I popped up the "hello" ( Big Hello Love Die ) on some foam for more dimension, and the card is complete.  With a great background like that, a simple word die will finish it without competing. Next up we have two products: L...

ELC Look On the Bright Side Kit

Hi friends,  Erin Lee Creative has a fantastic new kit today which coordinates with the previously-released Somewhere Kit .  It's called Look On the Bright Side , and it has a die, stencil and stamp sets with the most perfect sentiments for encouragement cards.  There is also a rainbow alphabet set available as an add-on.   Join us in our blog hop today and comment to enter for a giveaway (see below). Isn't this a great kit? My first card uses the rainbow burst stencil.  I pounced white ink through the stencil, then I used Polychromos pencils to color over the white ink.  This technique allows the color to stand out on dark cardstock.  Of course I had to add a little shine and glitter, so I colored over parts of the rainbow and rays with a shimmer pen. My next two cards were inspired by a T-shirt ad I came across, and I loved the ombré of skin tones.  I really believe that good things are coming, and I absolutely believe that we rise by lift...
