Pretty Flowers

I love, love, love flowers. All kinds, all colors. So naturally, I have loads and loads of flower image stamps, and I'm sure to buy more in the future. Some people have a lot of shoes, I have a lot of flower stamps. What can I say?
This first card is one I did for a swap last year. My friend saw it and promptly ordered a set of 10 so she could have birthday cards on hand. I actually bought this stamp set, Green Thumb because of this funky flower. It seems like a dandelion to me, but I wanted to use this color combination to echo its personality. It might be difficult to see, but I used stickles (glitter glue) in the centers for some sparkle.

Here's a familiar layout done with a twist. I heat embossed in white a full sheet of flowers from Lisa Johnson's set, Flower Garden, then cut the pieces I needed. A little like a One Sheet Wonder, I suppose. I've used several different colors of paper with this technique, and I just have loved how they've turned out.

    I love both of these cards! I too bought Green Thumb because I liked the "dandelion" image. Well, I also liked the delphinium one. OK, OK, so I like any flower. I love the white embossing in the bottom card--so pretty on the Cool Caribbean.

February Blog Hop

For this month's Hop, we are to pay homage to a member of PTI's Design Team. They are all so very talented! I chose a recent project by the amazing Debbie Olson . I loved her simple design with white embossed violets on Raspberry Fizz, with a few little details sprinkled in--sparkly centers, a scored edge and rounded corners. Just beautiful! I actually copied this card exactly, because it was so easy, but then I decided to change it up a bit. Here is my version in Enchanted Evening, with the smaller flowers. I didn't have the right color buttons, so I made a little fancy ribbon edge. The sparkles are flat rhinestone stickers. Best $1.99 I've spent in a while! Thanks for the inspiration, Debbie! May WMS Blog Waltz

This month's WMS Blog Waltz challenge is to make a birthday card. I have no trouble making cards for girls, but sometimes boy cards elude me. I absolutely LOVE this paper airplane from Free Spirit-Boy , and I think it's perfect for a simple, masculine birthday card. (Inside the card it says, "happy birthday".) Enjoy!
