Erin Lee Creative March Release Blog Hop

Hello, friends!  Welcome to the Erin Lee Creative Blog Hop!  Hopefully you've come here from Erin's blog.  I'm excited to share a few of the cards I've made with the new release from Erin Lee Creative.  (Psst...There is a fantastic sale going on, too!  40% off everything but the new release!)

We are giving away $25 gift certificates to three lucky winners chosen from comments left across all of the blogs participating in this hop.  Please leave a comment on any participating blog (scroll down for the whole list) by Friday, March 29, 2019.  The winners will be announced the following week in the Erin Lee Creative Blog.  The more you comment, the more chances to win!

What I love most about this new company is the wide variety of images, fonts and styles available.  There is really something for everyone!

First up we have Floral Peacock.  I love that it begs the use of bright colors.  I used a combination of coloring with Copic markers and painting with an ink pad (because I did not yet have a peacock blue marker).  I colored over the feathers with a clear glitter brush pen--one of my favorite tools.  The sentiment is heat embossed and is from Hummingbird Love (see below).

Here's a closeup of the glitter:

In keeping with the peacock theme, here is a more abstract version.  The Peacock Background stamp is really unique and packs a punch.  The sentiment is from Incredible India (a must have--and it's 40% off right now!).

Again I colored it with Copics (I finally got that peacock blue marker) and then a glitter marker.  The panels are popped up on craft foam to set off the sentiment.

Finally we have Hummingbird Love.  We have a family friend who is an incredible photographer.  He takes the most amazing pictures of birds, and his hummingbirds are absolutely stunning.  I had him in mind when I was making cards with this set.  I stamped the images in gray, then used Polychromos colored pencils to fill them in.

That's it for me today, but keep an eye on my blog and Instagram @cherylcards for more.  I just couldn't stop.  Next up in the blog hop is Jenny!  Don't forget to leave comments for a chance to win a gift certificate!   Here is the list of all the ladies in the hop:

1. Erin

2. Cheryl - You are here!

3. Jenny

4. Karen

February Blog Hop

For this month's Hop, we are to pay homage to a member of PTI's Design Team. They are all so very talented! I chose a recent project by the amazing Debbie Olson . I loved her simple design with white embossed violets on Raspberry Fizz, with a few little details sprinkled in--sparkly centers, a scored edge and rounded corners. Just beautiful! I actually copied this card exactly, because it was so easy, but then I decided to change it up a bit. Here is my version in Enchanted Evening, with the smaller flowers. I didn't have the right color buttons, so I made a little fancy ribbon edge. The sparkles are flat rhinestone stickers. Best $1.99 I've spent in a while! Thanks for the inspiration, Debbie! July Blog Hop

This month's Blog Hop challenge was to use text as a background. I haven't done that in a while. I chose to use the script paper from Raspberry Fizz patterned paper, and I went crazy and made two cards. Yahoo. For this first card, I traced a Maya Road flower, knotted a piece of ribbon and poked it through a hole in the center. The New Leaf ribbon is just looped a little and adhered to itself. This second card didn't turn out quite as well as I had envisioned, but it works fine. It's for a friend of mine, and I just wanted to have a bunch of different kinds of hearts to represent different personalities. Card #1 Paper: PTI White, Bitty Dot black pattern paper, Raspberry Fizz, RF patterns Other: Maya Road flower for template, Raspberry Fizz and New Leaf satin ribbon, dimensional tape Card #2 Paper: PTI White, black, RF patterns Ink: Versafine Onyx, SU PassionPink Stamps: PTI Heart Prints

Lil' Inker Designs Mini Release Blog Hop

Hello, friends!  So glad you're here, hopping with us.  (Go here  to see the full blog hop order.)  I am excited to show you this brand new stamp from Lil' Inker Designs , which is part of their May Mini Release.  Leave comments on any of the blogs in this hop to enter to win one of the new stamp sets, the new cover plate, or the angel pets goodies!  Details on the Lil' Inker Designs Blog . This stamp is called Never Regret Being Kind. (Keep hopping, and you'll see more!) One of the things I love most about this hobby is that it is inherently kind.  So what could be better than a stamp that encourages even more kindness?  Such a great sentiment! This stamp is easy to use as the focal point of a card...so easy, in fact, that I made 4 right out of the gate!  Each one uses a different technique--this stamp is so versatile. For my first, I heat embossed the sentiment in white on steel grey cardstock.  I then colored over the...
