Dad's plaid

Saturday was my dad's 84th birthday.  He is just the best!  I like to refer to him as Superman, because he really can do anything.  He is in great shape from walking 5 miles every day, and he whistles a happy tune all day long.  I feel so blessed to call him my dad!  Another great thing about him is that he is always well-dressed.  If he is not wearing a suit and tie, he can be found wearing a short-sleeved, button-down plaid shirt, so I tried this homage to him in card form:

And here's my dad at age 81, climbing the rock wall on a cruise ship (faster than I did).  Always wearing the plaid shirt. :)  Told you he was Superman.

This stamp is called Never Regret Being Kind. (Keep hopping, and you'll see more!) One of the things I love most about this hobby is that it is inherently kind.  So what could be better than a stamp that encourages even more kindness?  Such a great sentiment! This stamp is easy to use as the focal point of a card...so easy, in fact, that I made 4 right out of the gate!  Each one uses a different technique--this stamp is so versatile. For my first, I heat embossed the sentiment in white on steel grey cardstock.  I then colored over the...

There will be two (2) $25 gift certificate winners chosen from the comments on our blogs, so comment away!  Winners will be posted on the Erin Lee Creative Blog on Saturday, February 1. First up:  Stained Glass Stencil I used some pearly embossing paste with this stencil, and as you can see, the results are nice and crisp.  I popped up the "hello" ( Big Hello Love Die ) on some foam for more dimension, and the card is complete.  With a great background like that, a simple word die will finish it without competing. Next up we have two products: L...
