I choose to be happy.

"The unhappy person resents it when you try to cheer him up, because that means he has to stop dwelling on himself and start paying attention to the universe. Unhappiness is the ultimate form of self-indulgence. When you're unhappy, you get to pay a lot of attention to yourself. You get to take yourself oh so very seriously"―Tom Robbins, Jitterbug Perfume

I choose to be happy.  Making cards makes me happy.  I don't care if I am ever published or if I am a "known" name in the industry.  I care about giving my cards to dear friends and family who love them and love me.  Card making is an inherently charitable hobby--a loving and kind hobby.  How ridiculous it is that so many who profess to be avid card makers are spewing hatred toward others all across the web.  Just comes down to selfishness, I suppose.

Thank you, ladies.  I had over 200 pageviews yesterday.  Happiness always wins.

Erin Lee Creative January Release

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the Erin Lee Creative January release .  When I received these products I sat down immediately and started to play.  There are such fun new stamps, dies and stencils.  I'm sure you'll find something you like. We are hopping today (see list below) to show off these great new products.  If you've come from Lindsay Dickason's blog , you're in the right place! There will be two (2) $25 gift certificate winners chosen from the comments on our blogs, so comment away!  Winners will be posted on the Erin Lee Creative Blog on Saturday, February 1. First up:  Stained Glass Stencil I used some pearly embossing paste with this stencil, and as you can see, the results are nice and crisp.  I popped up the "hello" ( Big Hello Love Die ) on some foam for more dimension, and the card is complete.  With a great background like that, a simple word die will finish it without competing. Next up we have two products: L...

Erin Lee Creative November Release

Hello!  I am your last stop on the Erin Lee Creative blog hop for the November release, now available in the shop .  If you haven't seen everyone's creations yet, check the list at the bottom of this post. *PRIZES* Two $50 gift vouchers will be given to winners chosen randomly from comments on each blog in the hop.  Winners will be announced on the Erin Lee Creative blog on November 9. Let's get to the projects! First up are two cards made with the same products...the  Stripe Background Stamp  and the  Stripe Sentiments Stamp Set .  There are so many possibilities with just these two products!  I started with an autumn rainbow of distress oxide inks: I really love how these sentiments fit perfectly in the stripes, and they look like the labels we used to make with those vintage label makers (remember turning the wheel and pulling the trigger for the right letters?).  They look especially good when heat embossed. (Sorry for getting that song...
