Baby Boy Card

Another friend from HS just had her first little boy last week.  He is hairy, and oh so cute!  I love hairy babies--I only had one out of six with hair that really mattered.  He looked like the Hobbit at birth, but I digress...I made a set of cards for this friend (whose son does NOT look like the Hobbit), so she could use them however she likes.  The inside is blank.  Enjoy!
My daughter was very concerned that I would forget to cut out the tail when I was paper-piecing, but then I showed her the magic of stamping the image on the white paper first.  She was duly impressed.

    So far I have managed to not add the cute little baby blessings to my collection.....but when I see cute cards, it gets harder and harder!!! Love your bitty dot elephant! An the scallop trim completes the fun and whimsy! :>

    Very cute! Love the paper piecing! Hmm, i looked like a rooster (or a very "cool" kid with a mohawk) when I was born... both my brother and I did... think it runs in the family. They spent a whole hour trying to comb my little mohawk down in time for the baby pics... high maintence for me started at a young age ;-)

February Blog Hop

For this month's Hop, we are to pay homage to a member of PTI's Design Team. They are all so very talented! I chose a recent project by the amazing Debbie Olson . I loved her simple design with white embossed violets on Raspberry Fizz, with a few little details sprinkled in--sparkly centers, a scored edge and rounded corners. Just beautiful! I actually copied this card exactly, because it was so easy, but then I decided to change it up a bit. Here is my version in Enchanted Evening, with the smaller flowers. I didn't have the right color buttons, so I made a little fancy ribbon edge. The sparkles are flat rhinestone stickers. Best $1.99 I've spent in a while! Thanks for the inspiration, Debbie! May WMS Blog Waltz

This month's WMS Blog Waltz challenge is to make a birthday card. I have no trouble making cards for girls, but sometimes boy cards elude me. I absolutely LOVE this paper airplane from Free Spirit-Boy , and I think it's perfect for a simple, masculine birthday card. (Inside the card it says, "happy birthday".) Enjoy!
