Dad's plaid

Saturday was my dad's 84th birthday.  He is just the best!  I like to refer to him as Superman, because he really can do anything.  He is in great shape from walking 5 miles every day, and he whistles a happy tune all day long.  I feel so blessed to call him my dad!  Another great thing about him is that he is always well-dressed.  If he is not wearing a suit and tie, he can be found wearing a short-sleeved, button-down plaid shirt, so I tried this homage to him in card form:   And here's my dad at age 81, climbing the rock wall on a cruise ship (faster than I did).  Always wearing the plaid shirt. :)  Told you he was Superman. Paper: PTI White, Spring Rain, Pure Poppy Ink: PTI Pure Poppy, Spring Rain, Spring Moss, Blueberry Sky Stamps: Impression Obsession Stripes, PTI Ikat Other: PTI Fillable Frames #1 die, Fabulous Frames die, dimensional tape

Muse Challenge #14--Merci

I'm finally throwing my hat in the ring for this week's Muse Challenge .  What I really loved about this card was the masked circle and the white "frame" around the flowers.  I took the liberty of making it horozontal, monochromatic and bold.  I forgot how much I love PTI's Giga Guide Lines. Here's Virginia Lu's inspiration card: Here's mine: Thanks for looking! Paper: PTI White, MFT Steel Grey Ink: SU Pink Passion, Versafine Onyx Stamps: PTI Think Big Favorites, Giga Guide Lines Other: Nestabilities circle, masking paper

Card Kit Club April

I have the loveliest group of friends who wanted to do a card kit club, and Merry was first to send some goodies: Here are the cards I've made, and I didn't even use everything up!: Love the built-in scallops on this one, and that paper can just stand alone!   For this one I cheated and stamped my own sentiment and flowers, but isn't that paper beautiful? Come see what my friends have done! Jen Melissa  Maggie Kristii Joan Leigh

Colorful Wishing You

You know when you have an idea in your head, and you get excited about putting it to paper, and you try it 1000 times, and you still can't make it work?  Yeah, that's what happened to this card.  Love this stamp set by Mama Elephant, though...I sort of attempted to try to maybe enter this into their competition last month, but nope.  Sigh. Paper: PTI White, Blueberry Sky, Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet Ink: PTI Smokey Shadow, Versafine Onyx Stamps: Mama Elephant So Breezy Other: Copic markers, dimensional tape, square punch for ends of flags

Practicality

I have 4 boys.  I also have a Silhouette and a Pinterest account.  Couldn't pass this one up.  I know it's not perfectly arched, but I'm sure the boys don't care.  This saying adorns the 1/2 bath downstairs, as well as the boys' bathroom upstairs.  Not sure the subtle hint is working, but I tried.

Ugliest Card Blog Hop

Today, on April Fool's Day, I present to you my entry for Suzanne's Egads!  What in the world was I thinking?  Well, I know what I was thinking.  This was for World Card Making Day in 2009, and Papertrey's challenge was to think "Australia".  I think I got the challenge okay, but what an UGLY card!  I'm pretty sure I threw this one away.  Sometimes challenges are not my friends. I'm sure I could've found even more cards to show you.  I did finally go through and throw most of my uglies away--many of which I never photographed.  You're welcome!
